Terry cloth is one of the most common, very often it is used for sewing warm dressing gowns. This fabric is distinguished by a fleecy surface, which is obtained by forming a large number of loops. Modern factories offer various types of terry cloth, which can have different density and softness.

The highest quality is terry cloth, which is made from natural Greek cotton. One of the main advantages of such fabric is its softness and good wear resistance. Also, terry cloth is quite pleasant to the body.

Products made from natural terry cloth are well suited for people who are allergic to synthetics. It should also be said that almost all items made from 100% cotton do not shrink after the first wash and will remain very soft for a long time.

Terry products should be washed at a temperature no higher than 70 degrees. Modern terry products may differ in the method of weaving loops. Untwisted single loops give things airiness and tenderness, but, unfortunately, the service life will be short. The yarn will quickly begin to shine, which will negatively affect the aesthetic appearance of the robe.

If the product is sewn on the basis of twisted loops, the material will be quite strong and thick, which will give the product durability. With each wash, the softness of the robe will increase.

Therefore, when choosing fabric for sewing a robe, you need to pay attention to its characteristics and composition:

• draw a rectangle ABCD: AB = 70 cm, AC = 135 cm;
• then the front of the product is constructed. Front width AO = 35 cm. From mark X, measure to the right AB1 = 4 cm, from mark B1, draw 3 cm down. • the belt loops should be located along the side line at a distance of 10 cm from the lower mark of the armhole. The length of these loops is approximately 6 cm (this is adjusted depending on the figure). The back is cut with a fold in the middle. The facing is transferred to paper and cut out separately. It is not necessary to make a side seam if the fabric is wide enough;

• Next, you need to construct the robe sleeves. Draw a rectangle with a width of AC = 60 cm and a length of 50 cm. Divide it into 4 equal parts with three dotted auxiliary lines (they can be marked with a contrasting color). Set aside 7 cm from marks A and B down. Combine mark O and the dotted lines. Construct the sleeve line according to the dimensions.

An easy method for constructing a pattern for loose-fitting dressing gowns. A woman can use a long nightgown as the base.

The first step is to draw the outline of the shirt.

• measure all the parameters needed for the pattern;
• carefully transfer them onto a sheet of paper or tracing paper;
