How to knit a plush cat - knitting patterns

A crocheted plush yarn kitten will create an atmosphere of warmth and love in your home. To make a knitted kitten, you will need skill and painstaking work, but if desired, even a novice needlewoman can cope with this task.

Specifics of knitting with plush yarn

Plush is a very soft material. It does not cause allergies and does not irritate the skin. It can be used to make a variety of products: clothes, toys, doll dresses. Most often, plush yarn is used to knit toy animals: cats, bunnies, bears, dogs. The result is very beautiful and cute toys that bring joy to children and adults.

Plush yarn is easy to knit with a thick hook. This material is made of viscose, acrylic or cotton. Various combinations of these materials are also possible. Different types of plush differ from each other in the length of the pile, as well as the density of its arrangement. It is very easy to work with such material. In addition to hook No. 3-3.5 and medium-thick threads, you will need two beads or buttons for the eyes, thick threads for the whiskers and nose. 2. Weave 2 dc into each loop of the previous row. You should get 12 dc in total.
3. Make 1 dc, then 2 dc in each next stitch. Repeat this 6 times. There should be 18 stitches.

5. Combination: 3 st. bnkd + 2 st. bnkd in each next loop. Repeat this combination 6 times and get 30 st.
6. Combination element: 4 dc + 2 dc in each of the next loops. Repeat 6 times and check to make sure you have 36 dc.
7. Combination: 5 dc + 2 dc in loops. Do this 6 times. You should get 42 columns.
8. Weave 1 single crochet into each loop. Knit like this from the 8th to the 16th row inclusive.
9. Insert eyes between rows 13 and 14. Count 7 loops between the eyes.

Continue knitting as follows:

• Row #17: 5 sc + 2 sc in 1 loop. Do 6 times. Total 36 stitches.
• Row #18 should be knitted like this: 4 sc + 2 sc in a loop. Repeat 6 times. Total 30 columns.
• Next: 3 sc + 2 sc in the 1st column. Repeat 6 times. You should get 24 columns.
• Next: 2 sc + 2 sc in 1. Do 6 times. Total 18 sts. Fill the head with cotton wool or padding polyester and sew up the hole.

Then you need to knit the ears - a paired detail:

1. Make a ring of 6 ch.
2. Make a combination: 1 sc + 2 sc in each loop. Repeat the combination 6 times. There should be 9 sc.
3. Weave 1 sc into each loop.
4. Create a combination: 2 sc + 2 sc in each of the following loops. Repeat the combination three times. You will get 12 sc.
5. Then again knit 1 sc into each loop.
6. Repeat the steps from the previous points for the second ear.
7. Sew the ears to the top of the head, attach the nose and whiskers.

The most difficult part of the work is the body and paws. Starting from the 13th row, you need to alternate colors, then you will get a striped T-shirt. For the skirt, you need to take an additional color in the 15th row.

Knitting the paws (legs):

1. Make a ring from 6 ch.
2. In each loop, knit 2 dc, for a total of 12 single crochets.
3. Combination: 3 dc + 2 dc in each next loop. Perform the combination three times and get 15 single crochets.
4. From the 4th to the 8th row inclusive, weave 1 st. bnkd into each loop.
5. Count 20 cm on the thread and cut it.
6. Repeat the same steps to knit the second leg.
7. On the remainder of the thread from the first paw, tie 15 st. bnkd. Do the same on the second one so that the paws are connected. A total of 30 columns.

Knitting the body:

1. Weave 1 dc into each loop of the previous row. You should get 30 dc.
2. Combination: 8 dc + 2 dc in each loop. Do this three times. There will be 27 columns.
3. The next 12th and 13th rows are knitted with 1 single crochet in each loop.
4. In the 14th row there will be a combination: 7 dc + 2 dc in 1 loop. Repeat three times and get 24 dc.
5. Rows 15–16 – 1 column in each loop.
6. For the 17th row, there will be a combination element again: 6 dc + 2 dc in 1 loop. This is repeated 3 times. There will be 21 columns.
7. Rows 18–19 – 1 single crochet in 1 stitch.
8. Row 20 (combination): 5 dc + 2 dc in loop. Do three times. Total 18 dc.
9. In the 21st row, there is a column in each loop.

Fill the paws and body with cotton wool and sew on the head. Then you can knit a skirt:

1. In the 15th row add a thread of a different color.
2. Cast on 1 chain stitch. Then weave 2 single crochet stitches into each stitch of the previous row. You will have 48 stitches in total. Connect them to the first stitch.
3. Make 2 air loops. In each loop, knit 2 single crochets. You will get 96 columns. Fasten with the first loop at the beginning of the row.

Upper legs (arms):

1. Make a ring of 6 air loops.
2. Weave 2 single crochets into each loop.
3. Third and fourth rows - 1 dc in each loop.
4. In the fifth row there will be a combination: 2 dc + 2 dc in 1 loop. Repeat three times. You will get 9 dc.
5. Row #6: 1 crochet into each stitch.
6. In the seventh row, again the combination: 1 dc + 2 dc in each loop. Do this three times. Total 6 dc.
7. In the eighth row, 1 single crochet should be woven into each loop.

Fill the paws with cotton wool and sew them to the body.

Kitten's tail:

1. Make a ring out of 7 air balloons.
2. Knit one single crochet into each loop.
3. Complete 8-10 rows in this manner.
4. Stuff the tail with cotton wool and attach it to the body.
