- The first 8 rows are knitted in the same way as the front ones.
- Next, several shortened rows are made. This is done so that the pants do not slip down when trying to seat the doll.
- Row 9. Knit with knit stitches, leaving 2 stitches unknitted to the end of the row. After this, the work is turned over and a yarn over is made.
- 9+1 row. Performed with purl stitches, without knitting 2 loops to the end of the row. After this, the work is turned over and a yarn is made.
- 9+2 and 9+4 rows. Similar to row 9.
- Rows 9+3 and 9+5. Knit the same way as row 9+1.
- Row 9+6. Knit with front loops, knit to the end of the row, yarn over together with the next loop, front loop.

Important! The elastic tied around the doll may not be enough to keep the pants firmly on the doll.

- Fold the edge and insert the elastic. If you choose this method, you should take this fold into account when knitting.
- Sew elastic along the inside.
- Thread the elastic thread along the waistband. It is most convenient to thread it with a hook. It is better to do it in 2-3 rows. The ends are hidden inside.

Before you start knitting for a doll, you should decide on the model of trousers. Like human trousers, there are many options for doll trousers. These can be shorts, or palazzo trousers to the heels, or simply straight, etc. But most often, knitting trousers for dolls is determined by the choice of either straight (they can slightly widen towards the top), or tapered towards the bottom, or tapered towards the top, and the bottom is flared.
