Every needlewoman has yarn leftovers that have been “waiting for their moment” for years. There is too little of this yarn leftover to make voluminous items, and it is not suitable for finishing work – it is too bright. Perhaps the idea of ​​creating the characters from the animated series “Three Cats” with a crochet hook belongs to one of the craftswomen who has accumulated too many colorful surpluses.

Who are the three cats?

Three cats, or rather three curious kittens, are named Kompot, Korzhik and Karamelka. They are the heroes of the Russian animated series of the same name, created for family viewing. The cats, their dad, mom, relatives and friends live in the fictional city of Kotopolis. The first episodes of the animated series appeared on TV screens at the end of 2015.

What materials, tools, and fittings will be needed for the work?

Needlewomen will need:

• 2 hooks – No. 1.5 and No. 1 (the latter will be used for knitting fingers);
• 2 buttons for the Compote costume;
• beads or buttons to make eyes and pompoms on the hats (if you don’t have the right accessories, you can draw or embroider the eyes, and knit the pompoms from leftover yarn or make them from plush);
• a gypsy needle and a plastic marker that knitters use to mark the desired stitch;
• stuffing for soft toys.

For the work, the needlewoman will need leftover colored cotton yarn such as Cotton Baby Soft Alize:

• green or emerald color - for the blouse, pants and hat of the cat Kompot;
• light brown or grey yarn – for the paws and stripes on the tails;
• some white yarn – for knitting the inner part of the cats’ ears, as well as a blouse and hat for Korzhik;
• red - for Caramel's body and bow;
• dark blue or green yarn - for Korzhik's pants and hat (the same threads will be used to decorate his sailor jacket);
• black threads – for decorating mustaches, mouths and stripes on the cheeks.

Master class "Three cats crochet": diagrams and description of work

Since orange is the predominant color, many needlewomen prefer to start the master class (hereinafter – MK) with making heads for three kittens. The main pattern is single crochet stitches (hereinafter – st. without crochet).

Head

Stages of work:

1. Having formed a sliding loop (hereinafter – amigurumi), the needlewoman ties it with 6 sts without yarn, tightens the thread and closes the first row with a slip stitch.
2. 2 rows. In each loop (hereinafter - st.) you need to knit 2 single crochet stitches, that is, from 6 sts knit 12. The main style is single crochet stitches.
3. 3 rows. From each 2 sts knit 2 sts without yarn over.
4. 4 row. Having knitted 4 sts without yarn over, move the beginning of the row forward by 2 sts. In order not to make a mistake in the calculations, mark the st that became the first with a special marker. The transfer is necessary to avoid a spiral effect, as a result of which the circle will turn into a polygon. In the 4th row, knit an additional column in every 3 sts.

5. 5 rows. 4 sts without yarn over and another shift of the beginning of the row (the marker is moved to 2 sts from the hook). In each 4 sts, knit a st without yarn over.

6. Rows 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12. Knit an additional column in every 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 sts respectively. The result should be 72 loops.

7. Knit the next 11 rows with single crochet stitches.

8. 24 rows. Knit 10 sts without yarn over, knit 11 and 12 sts behind the front walls in 1 st without yarn over.

9. Move the beginning of the row back 2 sts.

10. 25 rows. Knit every 10 and 11 sts together through the front walls.

11. 26 rows. Knit every 9 and 10 sts together through the front walls.

12. Consecutively decrease in each new row until there are 6 sts left in the work and fill the blank with stuffing for soft toys.

Eyes

Amigurumi needs to be crocheted with 8 stitches without yarn, then tightened. You can increase the size of the eyes by knitting additional rows. A black bead or button should be sewn into the center of the eye.

Nose

Can be knitted or embroidered.

Ears

From orange and white threads you need to knit 2 triangles and sew them together. The triangles can be the same size or different.

3. Rows 3 and 4 should be knitted by knitting sts alternately through the back and front walls.

Suit for Compote

For this you need:
