Nylon is a very fragile and sensitive material. It tears easily. Sometimes you can't wear tights for even one day before they start to run. Don't rush to throw them away, there are many places in everyday life where they can still be useful. So what can you make from old nylon tights?

Tights in everyday life
These simple tricks will surprise anyone.
Protective cover for a broom
How to extend the life of a broom? Strengthen its most vulnerable part! Usually this is the place where the handle begins. You should cut off a piece of tights so that it completely covers the area from the middle of the handle to the middle of the lush part of the broom. This will help to avoid individual twigs falling out during cleaning.

Waterproof Flower Pot Liner
You need to cut off the bottom of the tights with a sock, approximately to the knee. Put it inside the pot, and pull the edges over the sides. Then you can plant the plant. Now the water will not flow onto the windowsill, even if there is more than it should.

Vacuum cleaner filter
Everything is simple here: remove the vacuum cleaner nozzle and put the stocking in its place. It should be tightly stretched over the pipe. Secure the structure with a rubber band a little higher. After putting on the nozzle, you can start cleaning.
Please note! You can search for small lost objects in the same way, but you don’t need to put on the attachment.

Patch for mosquito net
Is your mosquito net torn and you don't have the money or time to order a new one? You need to trim the edges in the torn area so that they don't stick out. Cut a piece of the right size out of your tights. Attach it to the mosquito net and tape it around the perimeter. The patch is ready! But remember that this is only a temporary measure until you buy a new mosquito net.

Strengthening screws
The method helps to strengthen loose bolts and nails in furniture. To do this, take torn tights, nylon socks or stockings (the best thing is that you can use the torn pieces directly for this) and tightly tamp them into the drilled hole. Then take a hot nail, insert it into the hole and quickly pull it out. After that, you can return the screw to its place.
Storing vegetables
This method was used by grandmothers: in the country or in the basement you can often see onions and garlic hanging in tights. You can store potatoes in the same way. The thing is that nylon allows air to pass through well, allowing it to circulate. And this guarantees that the vegetables will not get damp and rot.
You need to put the root vegetables in tights, tie them in a knot at the top and hang them in a well-ventilated place.

Filter for camera
How to get an unusual photo? Put an old stocking on the camera lens to get an original fog effect. The photos come out very natural and unusual. This trick is worth remembering for beginner photographers and lovers of experiments.

Garter of grapes
Nylon is good for making garters for grapes. They are soft but strong. They allow you to adjust the length of the garter, which helps to gradually pull up strongly deviated shoots. This method of gartering is very similar to the natural fastening of grapes by their tendrils.

Polishing cloth
Thanks to the soft abrasive properties of nylon, crumpled tights make a good rag for polishing furniture. It copes well with stuck-on dirt, removes dust and greasy marks from the surface.
Pool net
This will allow you to clean the pool from excess debris and dirt (leaves, papers, etc.). The base can be twisted from wire or take the handle of an old torn net (if you have one). In some cases, you can take an old badminton racket, but remove the fishing line. Then it is enough to stretch the nylon onto the prepared base, after which you can start cleaning the pool.
Use of nylon by needlewomen
In addition to household use, torn nylon can be useful for needlewomen. Making toys and jewelry from old stockings is a pleasure, the main thing is to use your imagination.
Master class on making a very long dachshund
You need to prepare:
- synthetic padding for stuffing,
- buttons for eyes and nose,
- threads,
- needle
- tights.

Master class on making:
- Fill the tights with padding polyester, adjusting the length of the dachshund. At the end, leave 8-10 cm for the tail.
- Twist the tail tightly into a spiral and wrap it with a strip of fabric (like a bandage).
- Next, you need to make a cover for it. Cut off a piece of nylon, fold it in half and sew on one side (the tube should be narrow). Turn it inside out so that the seam is inside and put it on the tail. Sew it at the base.
- Separate a small heel from the sock and tie it with a thread; this will be the nose.
- Separate 5 cm and tie it with thread, this will be the head.
- Sew four blanks - paws - in approximately the same way as the "cover" for the tail. Carefully sew them in the right places.
- Next, make the ears: cut two pieces of nylon 10-12 cm long. Sew in a semicircle on one side. Turn inside out and sew to the base of the dog with a side seam.
- Make the eyes out of buttons. To make them look more natural, connect a large white button and a smaller black button, sew (or glue). For beauty, you can add a collar made of bright ribbon or leather.
For your information! Depending on the color of the tights, the dachshund can be black or yellow.

Delicate Butterflies from Nylon Tights: Master Class
Nylon butterflies can be a beautiful addition to an interior, garden or flower bed. It is better to make them from tights of different colors, but a product made of any nylon will look beautiful.
To create butterflies you will need:
- nylon;
- threads of the same color;
- wire;
- pliers;
- beads of different sizes;
- template (you can use glass bottles of different diameters, for example, from medicine bottles);
- scissors;
- skewer;
- tape.

How to do:
- Cut four pieces of wire: 2 by 10 cm and 2 by 12 cm.
- Wind the wires onto the skewer in a spiral (from the middle), making three turns.
- Wrap the wire around the bottles (two turns for each diameter).
- You will get a round wing shape. You need to stretch them a little to make the shape more realistic.
- Pull the nylon over the blanks and cut off the excess.
- Fold the wings in pairs: large to large, and small to small. Secure with thread.
- Open the wings and fasten them together with a thread, then twist the wire of both pairs together.
- Make a body. Take two long pieces of wire, attach a small bead to the end of each. Connect the wires together so that long antennae remain. Put beads on them: one larger and 3-4 smaller ones.
- One wire will have beads, and the other will be free. Place the wing blank between them so that the beads are on top (like a body), and the free edge is below.
- Connect both edges together and twist.
- Wrap the remaining edge with tape.

Knitting a rug from nylon tights
A nylon rug can be placed under a flower pot or cup. To make it, you will need tights (as many as you like, depending on the desired size of the rug), a crochet hook (6.00 mm) and scissors.

Stages of MK:
- Cut off only the stockings from the tights. Cut the resulting piece in half to make a kind of canvas.
- Cut the resulting piece of fabric into strips 2 cm wide.
- Tie the resulting threads tightly together.
- Start knitting a round rug by making five chain stitches.
- Insert the hook through the first loop and pull the thread through.
- make a yarn over and pull the hook through the second loop again. Pull out the nylon thread and continue knitting through the yarn over.
- Again pull the thread through the resulting loop and the loop that was before the yarn over.
- Continue knitting the rug in a circle using this principle. Add two new loops in each new row.

Hair elastics
You can make a supply of hair ties for several years from one pair of tights. Just cut off the stocking and cut it into rings 3-4 cm wide. Of course, such hair ties are not suitable for going out, but at home they will be irreplaceable.
Please note! You can still try to make such an elastic band "dressy", decorating it with beads, sequins or seed beads. The main thing is to hide the base of the elastic band itself behind the decorations.

Children's toys
Using the same principle as the dachshund, you can make many different toys from tights. Even a novice seamstress can sew such a fake. Making a doll, hedgehog or bunny together is more interesting for both mother and child. And this can be considered as an educational lesson with the baby.
Knowing that you can make something useful out of nylon tights, even despite the runs and holes, it becomes a pity to throw them away. You can use them as a means for cleaning furniture, storage for vegetables, as raw material for toys and fakes. Basically, anything. The main thing is to want to put them somewhere.
