- The segment corresponding to the inseam is drawn with a dotted line from point 6 to 1. After this, it is divided in half, and 1 cm is measured from its center to the right and all 3 points are connected.
Back half
The next step is to make a pattern for the back half. This is done step by step:
- From point B, a segment is laid off 2 cm to the right and 4 cm up. Its end is marked with the letter T, which is then connected to point A.
- To obtain ¼ of the width of the product, one centimeter is measured to the right from point 6 and marking P7 is placed at this point.
- The dotted line marks the landing level. This segment is connected to points P7 and T, but then extended to the right by 2 cm. This dotted line is divided into 4 equal parts. From the penultimate of the points located on the line, 2 cm is set aside to the right, and from the first - 1 cm. After that, all the resulting points are connected.
- From point G, a line is drawn 4 cm to the right, after which it is connected to segment P. Then points G and 4 are connected, thus forming the bottom of the product.
If necessary, the front of the garment should be designed to accommodate a gusset.
How to cut out a product
To make it easier to cut out the material, it would be better to transfer the resulting drawing of both halves of the product onto a large sheet of cardboard or polyethylene film, not forgetting to leave space for allowances. For convenience, all dimensions are usually written in centimeters.
Thus, it will be easier to lay out the prepared fabric according to the resulting underwear patterns. Also, the blank will not allow you to forget about making seam allowances.
To avoid having to redo the patterns later, it is recommended to first sew a trial pair of panties using the draft and determine whether any changes in size are needed.
